Facilitator Certification

We now offer facilitator certification; you can become a Certified Systemic Stairway™ Facilitator (CSSF). The Facilitator Certification programme is an empirically based training and certification programme for leadership, project management, and organisational development professionals, based on the research of Julian Day, PhD.

The aim and focus of our Facilitator Certification programme are to develop professional facilitators that can create real change and success in complex team or organisational projects, programmes and or initiatives.

Facilitator Certification Roadmap

The roadmap to Facilitator Certification consists of four steps.

The prerequisite course, Managing Collaboration, needs to be completed in order to qualify for Facilitator Certification. The quickest and easiest way to complete this course is through our online course, which you can purchase and access using the link below.

Manage Collaboration: Systemic Stairway Methodology

In this course, you will learn the Systemic Stairway™ methodology, tools and techniques for managing collaborations that boost the collective intelligence of any team or group and enable them to rapidly identify and agree on key priorities in their problem-solving, decision-making and execution processes in a wide variety of strategic and operational situations.

What if I have attended an in-person or virtual training?

If you have already attended one of our in-person or virtual training sessions in the past, these count towards Facilitator Certification, all that you are required to do is complete the standardised course assessment quiz. To get access to this course assessment quiz, please email us at info@deliberatecollaboration.com and we will get you set up and ready to start your next course or move on in the Facilitator Certification process.

If you have not done so already, we require you to display competence in the Systemic Stairway™ methodology tools and techniques by completing and submitting one practical individual exercise and application of the methodology. This exercise is part of the online course and can be done simultaneously.  We provide feedback and, if necessary, you may be required to rework the application. Once completed successfully you are able to apply for the Facilitator Certification course, Facilitating Collaboration.

We will email you the application once step two has been completed successfully. The application form requires you to meet certain eligibility criteria in order to qualify. Please be sure you meet these eligibility criteria in advance. You can find all this information in the Facilitator Certification Handbook.

Once you have applied and qualified you will be able to enrol in the final Facilitator Certification Course, Facilitating Collaboration

It’s time to get going with the Facilitator Certification course, Facilitating Collaboration. This is a blended course that can be completed asynchronously, in your own time.  During this course, we will schedule video calls with you to provide feedback and assistance. The course consists of:

  • A series of video lessons and readings
  • 3 x practical assignments require you to apply the methodologies and frameworks learnt

This is it. The last requirement to becoming a CSSF. The final assessment requires you to: commission, prepare and run a live 4-5 large group facilitation workshops (virtually or face-to-face) with any team or group of your choice around a real challenging situation they face.
